MARIE
I have had my own dogs since I was 10 years old, and have always
been around and loved them. Between constantly living with and
reading about dogs, I have an understanding that makes communication
with them different from many humans.
 While
training a dog, I understand when the owner and I are using the
wrong methods and when the dog just does not understand what he
needs to do to please the owner. I can work with the dog to find
another way to explain the lesson in his language--not through
barking or growling, but doggie body language and subtle movements
that are easier for the dog to read.
During massage I constantly watch and feel the reactions of the
dog to better understand what he feels. I can intuitively find
painful areas with a gently touch, and even deduce what it is
that caused the problem--a slip, a fall or being pounced upon
by the puppy. The dogs I work with tell me their problems in their
movements while I massage.

Although I train to AKC ring regulations, my training is the
ground work for a good companion--not just a dog that only obeys
in the ring.

I am currently working my dogs in the ring to achieve higher
titles. A good trainer never stops learning.
To start the new millennium, I earned the
honor of being named California Obedience Instructor of the year
2000. This honor was bestowed on me for having the most students
earn the American Kennel Club title of Companion Dog with their
dogs that year in the state of California. For more information,
